Our lab focuses on developing natural health materials, particularly in microbial fermentation derivatives, seaweed extracts, and strategic use of algal residues. We employ fermentation and enzyme-assisted extraction methods, optimizing procedural parameters and analyzing product composition to identify effective elements.
To enhance the bioavailability and applications of natural material components, we skillfully employ micro-nano emulsion systems. This leads to inventive formulations that aim to achieve various goals, including preserving and controlled release of these elements, along with improved permeation across mucosal substrates.
We also explore the potential to turn our research results into marketable products. This involves using cell or animal models to evaluate outcomes, covering a range of effects like immune modulation, relief from allergies, improvement in metabolic syndrome, and increased resilience against Candida infections, among others.
Due to the connection between gut microbiota composition and various health issues, our investigation goes beyond to understand how the gut microbiota participates in these models. We also examine how natural material components could potentially address imbalances in the gut microbiota, thereby enhancing their unique physiological effects.
