提供一個激發學習的環境,使學生能夠獲得:a) 對原核細胞和真核細胞中遺傳物質的組織、複製和表現有深入的理解,b) 對當前用於基因結構和功能分析的方法和技術有清楚的了解,c) 獲得應用這些知識解決分子生物學中問題的經驗。
Our objective is to provide a stimulating environment in which students can obtain: a) an in-depth understanding of the organization, replication and expression of the genetic material in prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, b) an understanding of contemporary methods and approaches used in the analysis of gene structure and function, c) experience and confidence in applying this knowledge to solve new and interesting problems in molecular biology.

Structure and function of macromolecules (DNA, RNA, and protein), including chemical and physical properties, and roles they play in cellular metabolism. The synthesis of those macromolecules (DNA replication, transcription and translation) will be reviewed in detail. Genetic engineering and regulation of gene expression discussed

本課程將協助學生建立生物精煉之概念,並掌握其應用核心,期望學生能具備分析案例與設計小型生物精煉流程之能力,以拓展未來工作所需的研發基礎
Students will understand the principle of biorefinery and recognize the core of biomanufacturing. They will be able to analyze individual cases and design a lab-scale biorefinery process at the end of the course.
