摘  要: Antrodia cinnamomea has commendations as “The ruby of the forest”. It smells aromatic, and it tastes acrid and bitter. It grows only on Cinnamomun kanehirae Hay. It prefers to grow in dark and humid condition in nature. Antrodia cinnamomea is a unique fungus of Taiwan. Antrodia cinnamomea was regarded as a species of Ganoderma lucidum in the early time. “Shennong Ben Cao Jing”, reports, Ganoderma lucidum is classified as the best of top category of traditional Chinese medicine. Antrodia cinnamomea is much better than Ganoderma lucidum, so Antrodia cinnamomea is horned as “King of Ganoderma lucidum”.
Phytomics similarity index (PSI) values for the chemical fingerprints of ethanol extract of different A. cinnamomea strains and different grown on wood. Test articles were administered by oral gavage to rats at 3000, 2200 and 1500 mg/kg BW/day for 90 consecutive days and reverse osmosis water was used as control. No treatment-related changes were observed for tissues. HPLC profile (0–420 min) of the methanol extract of Niuchangchih at 254 nm. Positions of five major antcins (A, B, C, H, and K) are indicated on top of the peaks.
The anti-inflammatory effect of Niuchangchih is, at least, partly attributed to antcin A that mimics glucocorticoids and triggers translocation of glucocorticoid receptor into nucleus to initiate the suppressing inflammation. Antcin C induces a Nrf2-mediated group of antioxidant enzymes via increase of JNK and PI3K activities. Antcin C protects human hepatic HepG2 cells against oxidative stress-induced cell death through dysregulation of apoptosis-related genes via elevated activation of Nrf2, which appears to be responsible for the induction of Bcl2 expression. Antroquinonol reduces oxidative stress by enhancing the Nrf2 signaling pathway and inhibits inflammation and sclerosis in FSGS(Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis) mice.
