Characterization of alginate lyases from Vibrio

摘  要: Alginate is the major polysaccharide composition of marine brown macroalgae, Alginate oligosaccharides (AOS) produced by enzymatic degradation show versatile physiological functions and biological activities. Alginate lyases can effectively degrade alginate into alginate oligosaccharides,There are many studies investigating alginate lyases from Vibrio. In this report two recombinant alginate lyases from Vibrio were reviewed. Recombinant Alyw202 with a molecular weight of approximately 38.3 kDa exhibited the highest activity at 45 °C and optimal pH value is 9.0. Alyw202 showed remarkable metal ion-tolerance and pH-stable properties. Therefore, the Alyw202 was a remarkable salt-tolerant and NaCl-independent enzyme. Alyw202 degraded alginates into disaccharides and trisaccharides in an endo-manner. The optimal temperature and pH of VsAly7D were 35 °C and 7.6, VsAly7D was an alkaline-stable alginate lyase and NaCl-independent. VsAly7D degraded alginates into unsaturated monosaccharides in an exo-manner. These findings suggest that Alyw202 and VsAly7D would be a potent tool for the industrial applications.
